Moheda Group's charitable initiatives during the worst of the pandemic

In the worst moments of the pandemic, Moheda Group was among the first organisations to donate material to multiple hospitals, nursing homes and foundations in order to help medical professionals and state forces, cleaning staff, and institutions that were suffering the most from the ravages of the virus.

The whole of Spain experienced a time of desperation for key hospital equipment and machinery between March and May, when the first wave of the disease led to a shortage of supplies and a global battle for these products. Faced with this circumstance, our group decided to donate its own material to help make essential items for the centres and the real heroes who have been on the front line of this crisis: the health workers, state forces and cleaning staff.

Committed from the start

Moheda Group, in its eagerness to collaborate in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, donated material to the Pablo Horstmann Foundation, an independent non-profit organisation with a clear purpose of social assistance and development cooperation inspired by principles of social justice, which organised an "army of solidarity" on different fronts, united by the same objective: to assist the most vulnerable, those who need protection on a daily basis and do not have it.

In this coordinated action, our company donated the products needed to make gowns, our bags. Thanks also to the 20 volunteers in charge of deliveries, including the Guardia Civil's Protection and Security Service Unit, the 30 people in charge of making gowns and masks and the 3 workshops involved in the initiative were able to make the material against the clock to deliver the orders on time and get them to the health centres and homes.

Joining the fight against covid-19

This initiative adds to a list of actions that Moheda has been carrying out since the beginning of the pandemic, including the 4,000 kilos of material donated to multiple hospitals, including the IFEMA Hospital. Our company distributed more than four thousand kilos of material for the creation of sanitary wipes and other drugstore and cleaning products.

Similarly, it has designed a unique product to add up on all fronts in the fight against covid-19. In the toughest of times, our engineering team created a model of washing machine bags that have proven to be the best option for handling, transporting and washing garments of the sick.

Helping the people who are suffering the most from the consequences

As was the case with the first or the coronavirus, economic insecurity has forced hundreds of families in Madrid to beg for food, creating long queues in front of food banks. For this reason, we were the first company to donate more than two thousand kilos of food and drugstore products to Mensajeros de la Paz before the Christmas campaign.

Innovating technologies to become more sustainable

The current health and economic crisis has put the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) even more at the centre of the action. The role of companies in building a more sustainable and just world is unquestionable, and from our perspective it is essential that companies, in their business processes, adapt to technology and make the most of it without damaging the environment.

Moheda Group has a long-term commitment to technology and innovation in a responsible manner, as we continue to invest in new solutions to overcome new challenges in sustainable development.
